We are Hui O' Hawaii of Sacramento, a cultural organization committed to preserving the Hawaiian culture through education and participation and ensuring a presence by being active in our community.

Our group consists of individuals from diverse backgrounds and cultures, but we all share the same interests in continuing the ancient art of hula and long-time favorite sport of outrigger canoe paddling.

Hui O' Hawaii Sacramento Annual Luau - April 2010

In an effort to support the aspirations of higher education Hui O' Hawaii of Sacramento hosts an annual luau and participates in other fundraising events that allow us to sponsor scholarships to our members.

Lake Tahoe

For the past 21 years, Hui O' Hawaii of Sacramento, Inc. has either hosted or co-hosted the annual North Lake Tahoe Criterion Canoe Racing event on Labor Day weekend.

“In Hawaii, we are finding it harder to practice our culture,” says Kamehameha Schools graduate Barboza. “The food we eat, the plants we made our clothes from, the plants that gave us the dye for our clothes, the plants our healers needed to practice, all come from our land.
